Why An International Tourist Association?
From the tourist providers point of view, there is a need to join forces
in order to improve the promotion of the Deux-Sèvres abroad, to
get easier access to 'the way of doing things the French way' (i.e. understanding
French law and regulations, and how to get things organized in the most
effective way) and, last but not least, to learn from each others
experiences.
From the administrational point of view (Comité Régional
du Tourisme, Comité Départemental du Tourisme) there
is a need to know the non-French setting up a business in order
to prevent them from 'not understanding our way of doing things'...
Also, the CRT/CDT have expressed their interest in learning from our
international vision and experiences to improve the promotion of the
Deux-Sèvres abroad.
And thus the International Tourist Association Deux-Sèvres was
created, June 2004, and its purpose is 'to contribute to the development
of tourism in Deux-Sèvres with its members by:

promoting the department,

helping to understand French administration,
-
being aware of tourist attractions,
-
working in connection with the CDT,
-
working with the French tourist partners,
-
undertaking other related activities.' (article 2 of
the articles of association)

The International Tourist Association Deux-Sèvres aims to contribute
to the development of tourism in Deux-Sèvres by promoting tourism
(article 2).
- whilst providing its members with the assistance required
to develop and make the businesses more professionnal
- whilst working together with the Comité Départemental
de Tourisme and the Comité Régional du Tourisme hence using
our international vision and experience, and the networks of all individual
members of the association.
Why Should I Join?
The concept of the International Tourist Association Deux-Sèvres
is to mutualize efforts: working together to achieve a better flow
of information, working together with the official tourist organizations,
working together to benefit from each others experiences.
With important numbers of foreigners arriving in the Deux-Sèvres,
and with an increasing number amongst them who want to set up a tourist
related business, the need to get organized and work together has become
consideringly more important.
Joining the International Tourist Association Deux-Sèvres means helping
to develop and professionnalize your business and to develop tourism
in the Deux-Sèvres.
